Canvagator: A South Asian Canva Templates Business

Coming from the land of lush green rainforests, cascading waterfalls, and scenic mountains, Nishad Mubarak identifies himself as a passive income freak. His professional palette includes work of various kinds, including the hospitality and tourism sector, ecommerce dropshipping, social media post creation, social media management, and his flourishing side hustle, a Canva templates store, Canvagator.

When we got in touch with Nishad, he ever-so-kindly allowed us to share his story with our readers.

Can you tell us more about your hometown? What’s it like living there?

I live in Balangoda, Sri Lanka, which is surrounded by an abundance of natural wonders and scenic beauty. It is particularly renowned for its gem industry, with precious stones like Sapphires, Topaz, and Rubies being found in the surrounding areas.

I love living here, with its breathtaking nature and rich gemstone heritage, making it a truly enchanting place to call home.

What led you to Graphic Designing? Is it your passion?

I began my professional career in the travel and tourism industry, where I gained subsequent experience in the travel, transport, and hospitality sectors. While working for a particular company, the managing director approached me with the task of developing a business prototype for a new subsidiary, which included the creation of a logo and a website.

Although I accepted the challenge wholeheartedly, the appreciation I received for the logo and the color palette for the website was completely unexpected. This experience revealed an untapped talent of mine, which ultimately led me to graphic design.

I decided to specialize in this field because I was fascinated by the power of visual communication, and its ability to convey messages effectively. I love creating Canva templates as they allow me to express myself and connect with others through visual storytelling.

Being a highly organized person, with a keen interest in writing and conducting thorough research, and my tendency to stay up-to-date with the latest trends positively contributes to my creation process.

What inspires your art?

Nature, with its intricate patterns and colors, often serves as the starting point for my designs. I also gather ideas from architecture, fashion, and different cultures. I love exploring the juxtaposition of traditional and contemporary elements in my artwork, creating a fusion of styles.

Can you tell us a bit more about your design style?

I would call my design style a blend of modern and organic elements. I love combining clean lines and geometric shapes with fluid and natural forms. The interplay between vibrant colors and subtle textures adds depth and visual interest to my artwork. Overall, I aim to create visually striking designs that evoke emotions and resonate with the viewers.

What is your daily process like?

I begin each day with a cup of coffee, and some me-time for reflection. I like to gather my thoughts and visualize the goals for the day before diving headfirst into the creative process. Usually, I begin by sketching my designs, experimenting with different creative palettes, and finally, refining my work digitally. I find that short breaks throughout the day keep me healthy and fresh, and so I never go without them.

Who buys your art from Social Media Calendar?

My clients are small business owners belonging to every corner of the globe. They actively seek and purchase content and templates to invigorate and enhance their social media presence, and online business reach.

Do you have any other jobs besides this one?

Yes, apart from selling Canva templates, I also manage a digital marketing agency, curate content for a thriving YouTube channel, and various other sources of passive income. These diversified professional pursuits help me develop my skills and maximize my entrepreneurial success.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

My goal for the next five years is to create multiple streams of steady and reliable passive income sources. I envision myself living a life of financial independence and flexibility, where I find time to explore the beautiful world around me.

Nature holds a special place in my heart, and I want to experience its beauty firsthand. I want to venture into natural landscapes, from lush rainforests to towering mountains, from pristine beaches to expansive deserts. I yearn to witness the vibrant colors of sunrise and sunset over the picturesque landscapes and capture these moments of awe-inspiring beauty.

In short, I hope to see the fruits of today’s labor in five years, which will enrich my life with unforgettable experiences and lasting memories.

What do you want to say to your fans?

I want to express my deepest gratitude for their unwavering support and for being an integral part of my journey. I value their opinion immensely and it helps me refine my work as I venture into new niches and expand my template collection.

“Never hesitate to share your thoughts and ideas with me. Let’s continue this journey together as I bring more innovative and captivating creations in the future!”
